Warm summer outfit in style of late 1960s with real vintage wide brim hat in style of Lady Beltham

It seems to me that this hat is something in the style of Gabrielle Chanel's favorite model - Marie-Hélène Arnaud.

In particular, she wore something similar in the first film from the French trilogy "Fantômas" directed by André Henri Hunebelle.

Probably many people, who watched this film, liked the uninhibited, hot and very free in clothes (at that time period) blonde Helen, the bride of the protagonist, performed by Mylene Demongeot.

But my childhood idol has been the cold, proud, elegant and mysterious Lady Beltham, played by Marie-Hélène Arnaud.

In spite of negligible screen time and none of a single line, she was incomparable!

With what dignity she wears Chanel-style outfits and a hat similar to mine, probably Chanel-style too!

It seems to me that precisely because of the absence of Marie-Hélène Arnaud, subsequent films are no longer so interesting.

In any case, I think Marie-Hélène Arnaud could very well have worn this my outfit, which also has a bit of audacity from late 1960s fashion and Gabrielle Chanel's elegance.

And probably Mademoiselle would have forgiven my dress, which opens knees a little!..

Since vintage and sometimes modern dresses do not often have a lining or it is very thin or unpleasant, it also happens that I wear a silk slip dress under them.

Actually, when I bought it in a secondhand store, it was paired with a 1920s-style but modern silk dress that was sewn on with straps.

But I realized that apart from the dress, it would have more potential.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find a vintage slip dress made of silk, so I have not been able to do it so far.

I am wearing:

  • Dark olive brown with large cream lilies and light/olive green leaves print pure silk a-la mod “Space Age” A-line mini dress with long sleeves and high neck, 2010s
  • (partly seen) Cream pure silk slip dress by “Hoss Intropia”, 2010s-2020s
  • Real vintage cream straw wide brim hat with large satin bow decor, about 1960s
  • Real vintage olive green satin little purse with bead and ribbon roses embroidery, about 1980s
  • White fishnet tights, about 1970s-1990s
  • Cream leather mid heel shoes, made in Spain, 2020s

I ended up with an outfit in the style of the late 1960s, specifically 1966, with a hat in the style of Marie-Hélène Arnaud as Lady Beltham from the 1964 film "Fantômas" and possibly Gabrielle Chanel herself.

But it's entirely possible that someone could wear a 1966 dress with a 1964 hat, especially if both have become classics.
