Cool spring outfit in style of "New Look" with real vintage velvet skirt & egg shell hat
I have long wanted to combine this heavy velvet skirt with a velvet hat, as they match very well in color and texture.
But, unfortunately, they are suitable for different weather. The skirt is very warm, but the hat is cold. So in this outfit it will be good only in a cool autumn, not very warm winter and little bit cool spring, when there is no wind. I wore it in end of February. However, the skirt has the potential for lower temperatures. If it had been longer, it would have turned out to be the 19th century, and so there is something from the "New Look" in it, because, as known, Christian Dior was impressed precisely by the past centuries.
So the 19th century style jacket, in my opinion, suits skirt well, as kind of echo of the past in the fashion of the 1950s.
In addition, I associate this skirt with a bell flower or any other blue flower, which is also associated with Dior, because flowerlike-ladies were his ideal! Even though the skirt is very heavy and weighs several kilograms!..
