Lady Danna Retro & Vintage

This vintage swing dress from the Finnish manufacturer “Siro-Puku” I would date between 1959 and 1961. I did a search for information about "Siro-Puku". In Finnish it means "Graceful Dress" or "Graceful Suit".  As always, there is very little information about it in the Internet.  I was able to learn that it was a clothing factory (tehdasvalmisteinenompelu) located in Lahti, an industrial city.   I also managed to find its full address. Street view on Google maps allowed me to see the building that once housed this production. Unfortunately, it is no more exist.  The building is unique in that its facade on the left side is decorated with a panel with a child, a woman and a man with a sewing machine. Perhaps a silent witness that my dress was once made there and that the factory made clothes for all genders and ages... Earlier, before I visited the "bullfighting country" for the first time, I imagined Spain and the Spaniards in a completely different way.  I thought that most Spaniards followed the traditions and traditional clothes of their ancestors.  I thought that most women either wore traditional hats, or wore jewelry or a rose in their hair, but in any case, combined it with a puffy dress or skirt.  I expected to see sultry black-haired beauties in mantillas and proud courageous caballeros, a land of passionate serenades and tempestuous emotions...
